Swami Vivekananda

Swami Vivekananda was a renowned Indian monk, philosopher, and spiritual leader who played a key role in introducing Vedanta and Yoga to the Western world. Born in 1863 as Narendranath Datta, he became a disciple of the mystic Sri Ramakrishna and later founded the Ramakrishna Mission to promote social service and spiritual education. His powerful speeches, especially at the 1893 Parliament of the World’s Religions in Chicago, earned him global recognition and respect.

Vivekananda emphasized the importance of self-realization, universal tolerance, and the unity of all religions. He believed that true spirituality involves serving humanity and cultivating inner strength through meditation and discipline. His teachings inspired countless individuals to seek higher consciousness and social reform, blending ancient wisdom with modern ideals.

One of his famous quotes captures his philosophy: "Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached." Another inspiring line is: "You cannot believe in God until you believe in yourself." These words reflect Swami Vivekananda’s call for courage, faith, and relentless effort on the path to spiritual and personal growth.
