Mark Z. Danielewski is an innovative American author best known for his genre-defying novel House of Leaves. Born in 1966 in New York City, he is the son of film director Tad Danielewski and opera singer Priscilla Coolidge. Danielewski studied English Literature at Yale and later attended the USC School of Cinema-Television, influences that contributed to his distinct style blending literary and visual storytelling.
