Goldie is a pioneering British musician, DJ, visual artist, and author, best known for his influential role in the development of drum and bass and jungle music in the UK. Born Clifford Joseph Price in 1965 in Walsall, England, Goldie rose from a troubled youth and time in foster care to become a major force in electronic music through his innovative productions and magnetic persona. His groundbreaking 1995 album Timeless, featuring the hit single Inner City Life, helped bring underground breakbeat culture into the mainstream.

Beyond music, Goldie has made his mark as a graffiti artist, actor, and author. He has appeared in films such as Snatch and The World Is Not Enough, and his autobiography All Things Remembered (2017) offers a raw, introspective look at his turbulent upbringing, personal demons, and path to self-discovery through art. His work—both sonic and literary—is deeply autobiographical, infused with emotion, defiance, and resilience.

Among his most striking quotes, Goldie once said: “You can't cheat life, you have to live it.” Another powerful line from his memoir is: “Art saved me. Music saved me. People didn’t know what I was going through, but I put it all into the sound.” These quotes reflect his philosophy of transformation through creativity, and his commitment to authenticity in every form of expression.
