David Lidington
Sir David Lidington is a distinguished British politician, historian, and author, best known for his extensive service as a Member of Parliament (MP) for Aylesbury from 1992 to 2019. Born on June 30, 1956, in Lambeth, London, Lidington was educated at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge, where he earned both a Bachelor's degree and a PhD in Modern History. His doctoral thesis focused on the enforcement of penal statutes during the reign of Elizabeth I. Before entering politics, he worked for BP and Rio Tinto and served as a special adviser to Home Secretary Douglas Hurd .

Between 2010 and 2016, he served as Minister for Europe, the longest tenure in that role in British history.
