Andrew Shaffer

Andrew Shaffer is a versatile American author, humorist, and illustrator known for his satirical novels, children's books, and genre-spanning works. Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Shaffer attended the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and studied comedy writing at The Second City in Chicago. He has authored over twenty books, including the New York Times bestselling Hope Never Dies: An Obama Biden Mystery, Fifty Shames of Earl Grey, and Secret Santa: A Horror for the Holidays Novel. His work has been optioned for film and television by major studios such as CBS/Paramount, FOX, and Freeform .

In addition to his writing, Shaffer is the founder and creative director of the greeting card company Order of St. Nick, which offers secular holiday cards. He resides in Louisville, Kentucky, with his wife, novelist Tiffany Reisz, and teaches at the Carnegie Center for Literacy & Learning and Louisville Literary Arts .
