Zdeno Chara

Zdeno Chara is a retired Slovak professional ice hockey player widely regarded as one of the greatest defensemen in the history of the National Hockey League (NHL). Born in Trencin, Czechoslovakia (now Slovakia) in 1977, Chara’s towering presence at 6'9" made him one of the most physically imposing players in the league. Throughout his career, he played for several teams, including the Ottawa Senators, Boston Bruins, and Washington Capitals, but he is most famously associated with the Boston Bruins. Chara served as the Bruins' captain for 14 years, leading the team to victory in the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals.
