Yogi Adityanath is an Indian politician and the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, one of the most populous states in India. Born in 1972 as Ajay Singh Bisht in Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand, he became a prominent figure in Indian politics through his association with the Hindu nationalist group Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Adityanath was elected as a Member of Parliament in 1998 and later became the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh in 2017.
