Toussaint Louverture

Toussaint Louverture was a prominent leader of the Haitian Revolution and is often regarded as the father of modern Haiti. Born into slavery in 1743 in the French colony of Saint-Domingue, Toussaint rose to become a skilled military commander and strategist.
