Stephen Curry, born March 14, 1988, in Akron, Ohio, is an American professional basketball player for the Golden State Warriors. Widely regarded as the greatest shooter in NBA history, Curry revolutionized the game with his exceptional three-point shooting ability. He led the Warriors to four NBA championships (2015, 2017, 2018, and 2022) and was named the NBA Finals MVP in 2022. Additionally, Curry has earned two NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards and was the first player in league history to be unanimously selected as MVP in 2016.
Off the court, Curry is known for his strong Christian faith and commitment to philanthropy. He often expresses that his success is a result of faith, passion, and relentless drive. One of his notable quotes is, "Success is not an accident. Success is actually a choice." This reflects his belief in the power of intentional effort and determination. Curry also emphasizes the importance of self-belief, stating, "What I tell people is be the best version of yourself in anything that you do. You don't have to live anybody else's story."
Beyond his athletic achievements, Curry is a vocal advocate for social issues. In July 2025, he sparked a salary debate by stating that NBA players are "underpaid" during an appearance on the podcast 360 with Speedy. His comments reignited discussions on player compensation in professional basketball, especially in light of ongoing comparisons between NBA and WNBA earnings.
