Shannon Walker

Shannon Walker (born June 4, 1965, in Houston, Texas) is an American physicist and NASA astronaut, selected in 2004 as part of NASA’s 19th astronaut group Rare Quote+10BrainyQuote+10BrainyQuote+10. She earned a BA in Physics in 1987 and an MS and PhD in Space Physics by 1993—both from Rice University in Houston +7+7Wikipédia+7. Before joining NASA, she worked as a robotics flight controller for the Space Shuttle program, contributing to numerous missions including STS‑27 and STS‑32 +7+7+7.

Walker flew two long-duration missions aboard the International Space Station.
