Ruchi Sanghvi (born January 20, 1982, in Pune, India) is a pioneering Indian-American computer engineer and entrepreneur. She made history as the first female engineer hired by Facebook in 2005, where she played a pivotal role in developing the platform's News Feed, Facebook Platform, and Facebook Connect. Following her tenure at Facebook, Sanghvi co-founded Cove, a collaboration software startup, which was acquired by Dropbox in 2012. At Dropbox, she served as Vice President of Operations, overseeing product, marketing, communications, and recruiting until her departure in 2013. In 2015, she established South Park Commons, a community-driven tech space that functions as an "anti-incubator" for entrepreneurs and engineers.
