Rory Kinnear is a distinguished English actor and playwright, celebrated for his versatile performances across stage, film, and television. Born on February 17, 1978, in Hammersmith, London, he hails from a family deeply rooted in the arts; his father was the late actor Roy Kinnear, and his mother is actress Carmel Cryan. Kinnear's early exposure to the entertainment industry led him to study English at Balliol College, Oxford, followed by training at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). He has since become a prominent figure in British theatre, notably with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Royal National Theatre .
Kinnear's career is marked by a series of acclaimed roles. He won Laurence Olivier Awards for his portrayals of Sir Fopling Flutter in The Man of Mode (2008) and Iago in Othello (2014). Additionally, he has appeared in notable television productions such as Black Mirror, Penny Dreadful, and The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2024), where he portrayed Tom Bombadil .
