Born on July 25, 1983, in Dana, Nepal, he served in the British Gurkha Army and later joined the UK Special Forces (SBS), specializing in cold-weather warfare. In 2019, Purja achieved global recognition by summiting all 14 of the world's 8,000-meter peaks in just six months and six days—a record at the time .
