Nancy McKeon is an American actress, director, and producer, best known for her role as Jo Polniaczek on the iconic 1980s sitcom The Facts of Life. Born on April 4, 1966, in Westbury, New York, McKeon began her entertainment career at the age of two, modeling baby clothes for the Sears catalog. She and her brother, actor Philip McKeon, appeared in over 65 commercials during their childhood. Her big break came in 1980 when she was cast as Jo, a tomboyish teen, in the second season of The Facts of Life. McKeon portrayed Jo for the show's entire run, from 1980 to 1988, earning a Young Artist Award for Best Young Actress in a Comedy Series .

Following her success on The Facts of Life, McKeon continued to build her acting career with roles in various television movies and series. She starred in Can't Hurry Love (1995–1996) and Style & Substance (1998), and portrayed Inspector Jinny Exstead on the Lifetime drama The Division (2001–2004).
