Najib Razak is a prominent Malaysian politician, economist, and author, best known for serving as the 6th Prime Minister of Malaysia from 2009 to 2018. Born in 1953 in Kuala Lipis, Pahang, he is the son of Malaysia’s second Prime Minister, Tun Abdul Razak. Najib began his political career at a young age and held various ministerial positions, eventually becoming the leader of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) and head of the Barisan Nasional coalition. His tenure was marked by ambitious economic reforms and the controversial 1MDB scandal, which would later define much of his political legacy.

As an author, Najib Razak has written and spoken extensively about economic transformation, national unity, and governance. His most notable publication is essays, commentaries, and policy reflections on Malaysian politics, development, and his own experiences in office. His writings aim to explain his policies, especially those involving the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP) and 1Malaysia initiative, designed to foster inclusivity in a multiethnic society.

Among Najib’s most quoted lines is: “1Malaysia is intended to bring people together to face challenges as one nation.” Another frequently cited quote is: “The era where the government knows best is over.” These quotes reflect Najib Razak’s stated vision of modernization and participatory governance, though they are often viewed through the complex lens of his political controversies. His writings and speeches remain significant to those studying contemporary Malaysian politics and leadership.
