Melania Trump, born Melanija Knavs on April 26, 1970, in Novo Mesto, Slovenia, is a Slovenian-American former model and the wife of Donald J. Trump, the 45th and 47th President of the United States. She became the first foreign-born First Lady since Louisa Adams and the first naturalized U.S. citizen to hold the position. Trump and Knavs married in 2005, and their son, Barron, was born in 2006.
As First Lady, Melania Trump launched the "Be Best" initiative, focusing on children's well-being, anti-cyberbullying, and opioid abuse prevention. She has also been involved in various philanthropic efforts, including serving as the Honorary Chairwoman of the Martha Graham Dance Company in 2005 and being awarded Goodwill Ambassador by the American Red Cross, a role she served for four years.
