Mayte Garcia is an American dancer, choreographer, actress, singer, and author, best known for her work with Prince and her memoir, The Most Beautiful: My Life with Prince. Born on November 12, 1973, in Fort Rucker, Alabama, to Puerto Rican parents, Garcia began dancing at age three, inspired by her mother's profession as a belly dancer. By eight, she was recognized as the world's youngest professional belly dancer, a milestone featured on the television show "That's Incredible" .
Garcia's career flourished when she joined Prince's New Power Generation in 1992, becoming the first female solo dancer in the group. Their professional relationship blossomed into a personal one, leading to their marriage in 1996. Together, they co-founded the charity Live 4 Love, which continues to support various philanthropic endeavors. After their divorce in 2000, Garcia pursued acting, appearing in series like Army Wives and Psych, and founded Mayte's Rescue, a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating dogs in need .
