Manmohan Singh

Manmohan Singh is an Indian economist and politician, best known for serving as the Prime Minister of India from 2004 to 2014. Born in Gah, in what is now Pakistan, in 1932, Singh’s family migrated to India during the partition in 1947. He pursued economics at Cambridge University and later earned a doctorate from the University of Oxford. Singh began his career as an economist in the Indian government, eventually rising to prominence as the Finance Minister in the 1990s, where he played a crucial role in overseeing India’s economic liberalization and moving the country toward a more market-driven economy.
