Laila Rouass

Laila Rouass, born on June 22, 1971, in London, is a British actress of Moroccan and Indian descent. She began her career as a video jockey for Channel V in India during the 1990s, which led to her acting debut in the film Senso Unico (1999). Rouass gained prominence with her portrayal of Amber Gates in the ITV drama Footballers' Wives (2004–2006) and later as Sahira Shah in Holby City (2011–2012, 2021). Her diverse roles also include appearances in Primeval, Spooks, and The Royals .

In 2009, Rouass competed in the BBC One dance competition Strictly Come Dancing, finishing in fourth place alongside partner Anton Du Beke. She has also been recognized for her humanitarian efforts, including her work with the NGO Save the Children. Rouass is known for her strong sense of identity and cultural heritage, often expressing pride in her multicultural background .
