Kim Dae Jung

Kim Dae-jung (1924–2009) was a prominent South Korean politician and activist, best known for his role in the democratization of South Korea and for being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2000 for his efforts to improve relations with North Korea. Born in Hamnyeong, Korea, during Japanese occupation, Kim faced political adversity early in his life.
