Katie Lee Biegel is an American chef, cookbook author, television personality, and novelist, born on September 14, 1981, in Huntington, West Virginia. She is best known as a co-host of the Food Network's daytime talk show, The Kitchen, and has also hosted Beach Bites with Katie Lee on the Cooking Channel. Lee's culinary journey began in her grandmother's kitchen, where she developed a passion for cooking and entertaining. She later pursued a degree in journalism and food science at Miami University in Ohio, graduating in 2003 .

In addition to her television career, Katie Lee is a published author. She released her debut cookbook, The Comfort Table, in 2008, followed by The Comfort Table: Recipes for Everyday Occasions in 2009. Her third cookbook, Endless Summer Cookbook, was published in 2015, and in 2021, she released It's Not Complicated: Simple Recipes for Every Day . Lee also authored a novel, Groundswell, in 2011, which was later adapted into a Hallmark TV movie in 2022 .
