Jenna Fischer is an American actress, best known for her role as Pam Beesly on the NBC sitcom The Office (2005–2013). Born Regina Marie Fischer on March 7, 1974, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, she was raised in St. Louis, Missouri. Fischer graduated from Truman State University with a degree in theater and moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. Her breakthrough came with The Office, where her portrayal of the receptionist-turned-saleswoman earned her an Emmy nomination and two Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series .
Beyond acting, Fischer is a co-host of the popular podcast Office Ladies, alongside her former co-star Angela Kinsey. The podcast offers behind-the-scenes insights into The Office and features interviews with cast and crew. Fischer has also ventured into writing with her book The Actor's Life: A Survival Guide, where she shares her experiences and advice for aspiring actors .
In 2023, Fischer was diagnosed with stage 1 triple-positive breast cancer. She underwent a lumpectomy, chemotherapy, and radiation treatments. Fischer has since been declared cancer-free and has become an advocate for early detection. She encourages others to prioritize their health, stating, “Don’t let work—or your kids, or anything else—get in the way of taking care of yourself” .
