Jeb Hensarling is an American author, attorney, and former politician best known for his role in shaping U.S. financial policy. Born in Stephenville, Texas in 1957, he studied economics at Texas A&M University and later earned a law degree from the University of Texas School of Law. He represented Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2003 to 2019, where he served as Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee.
