Gus Kenworthy (born October 1, 1991, in Chelmsford, Essex, England) is a British-American former freestyle skier, actor, and LGBTQ+ advocate. He gained international recognition by winning the silver medal in men’s slopestyle at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. In 2015, Kenworthy made history by becoming the first openly gay athlete in action sports to come out publicly, challenging stereotypes and inspiring others in the LGBTQ+ community.
