Glen Duncan is a British author born in 1965 in Bolton, Lancashire, to an Anglo-Indian family. He studied philosophy and literature at the universities of Lancaster and Exeter. After moving to London in 1990, Duncan worked as a bookseller for four years while writing in his spare time. His debut novel, Hope, published in 1997, was met with critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic. He later gained wider recognition with I, Lucifer (2002) and the Last Werewolf trilogy, which includes The Last Werewolf (2011), Talulla Rising (2012), and By Blood We Live (2014).
