George Blanda

George Blanda was an American professional football player renowned for his extraordinary longevity and versatility in the sport. Born on September 17, 1927, in Youngwood, Pennsylvania, Blanda played 26 seasons in the NFL and AFL, the most in professional football history. Over his career, he served as both a quarterback and placekicker, amassing a total of 2,002 points, a record at the time of his retirement in 1976. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1981 .

Blanda's career began in 1949 with the Chicago Bears, but it was his time with the Houston Oilers and later the Oakland Raiders that solidified his legacy.
