Born Neil Andrew Megson in Manchester, England, P-Orridge was the founding member of the experimental band Throbbing Gristle, which became a defining force in the industrial music scene in the 1970s. Later, P-Orridge formed the band Psychic TV, known for their avant-garde music that mixed electronic, experimental, and psychedelic elements. P-Orridge was not only a musical innovator but also a key figure in the avant-garde art scene, combining performance art, visual art, and radical philosophy. They were known for their bold exploration of identity and gender fluidity, famously undergoing body modification surgeries with their partner, Lady Jaye Breyer P-Orridge, in an effort to create a "pandrogynous" being, blurring the boundaries between them.
