Don Knotts was an American actor and comedian, born on July 21, 1924, in Morgantown, West Virginia. He is best remembered for his iconic roles on television, particularly as the nervous and bumbling Deputy Barney Fife on The Andy Griffith Show (1960-1968). Knotts’ impeccable comedic timing and ability to create lovable, quirky characters made him a beloved figure in American television. He won five Primetime Emmy Awards for his portrayal of Barney, cementing his place in TV history.

After his success on The Andy Griffith Show, Don Knotts continued to star in films and television, including starring in films like The Incredible Mr. Limpet (1964) and The Ghost and Mr. Chicken (1966).
