Dave Reichert

Dave Reichert is an American politician and former law enforcement officer who served as the U.S. Representative for Washington's 8th congressional district from 2005 to 2019. Born on August 29, 1950, in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, Reichert began his career in public service as a police officer with the King County Sheriff's Office in Washington, where he served from 1972 to 2005. Notably, he led the investigation that captured the Green River Killer, a case that garnered national attention.

Following his tenure as sheriff, Reichert was elected to Congress as a member of the Republican Party. In 2024, Reichert ran for governor of Washington but was defeated by Democrat Bob Ferguson.
