Dave Brat

Dave Brat is an American economist and politician, best known for his surprise victory in the 2014 Republican primary against House Majority Leader Eric Cantor. Born in 1964 in Detroit, Michigan, Brat went on to earn a Ph.D. in economics from American University. He was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2014, representing Virginia’s 7th congressional district.
