Claire Fox

Claire Fox, born June 5, 1960, in Buckley, Wales, is a British writer, journalist, lecturer, and politician. She is the director and founder of the think tank Academy of Ideas (formerly the Institute of Ideas). A former member of the Revolutionary Communist Party, she later identified as a libertarian and became a registered supporter of the Brexit Party. In 2019, she was elected as a Member of the European Parliament for North West England. In 2020, she was appointed as a life peer in the House of Lords, taking the title Baroness Fox of Buckley .

Fox is known for her advocacy of free speech and her critiques of political correctness. In her book I Find That Offensive! (2016), she discusses the implications of victimhood culture and the policing of speech. One of her notable quotes from the book is:
