Chesley Sullenberger

Chesley Sullenberger, also known as “Sully”, is a renowned American pilot, author, and retired Air Force officer best known for his heroic actions during the "Miracle on the Hudson" in 2009. Born on January 23, 1951, in Denison, Texas, he developed a passion for aviation at a young age and went on to become a U.S. Air Force fighter pilot before transitioning to a career as a commercial airline captain. His calm and courageous emergency landing of US Airways Flight 1549 on the Hudson River saved all 155 lives on board and earned him international acclaim.
