Brianna Keilar is an Australian-American journalist and television anchor known for her incisive reporting and candid commentary. Born on September 21, 1980, in Canberra, Australia, she moved to the United States with her family at the age of two. Keilar graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2001 with dual bachelor's degrees in mass communications and psychology . She began her broadcasting career in Yakima, Washington, at CBS affiliate KIMA and later joined CBS News, where she served as an anchor, reporter, and producer for a CBS newscast that aired on MTVU .
In 2006, Keilar joined CNN as a correspondent for CNN Newsource, providing breaking news coverage and reports from the nation's capital for approximately 800 CNN Newsource partner stations . She has held various roles at CNN, including White House correspondent, senior political correspondent, and anchor for "New Day" and "CNN Right Now." As of April 2023, she co-anchors the afternoon edition of "CNN News Central" .
