Anthony Marra is an American novelist and short story writer, acclaimed for his poignant explorations of war, identity, and the human spirit. Born in 1984 in Washington, D.C., Marra earned a Bachelor of Arts in creative writing from the University of Southern California and an MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. He was a Stegner Fellow at Stanford University, where he later served as a Jones Lecturer in Fiction.
