She gained prominence as the lead vocalist of the rock duo The Kills, formed in 2001 with British guitarist Jamie Hince. Known by her stage name "VV," Mosshart's intense performances and distinctive voice have been central to the band's success. In 2009, she co-founded the blues-rock supergroup The Dead Weather with Jack White, where she performs under the moniker "Baby Ruthless."
