Adoniram Judson

Adoniram Judson was an American missionary and one of the most prominent figures in the early history of Protestant missionary work in Burma (now Myanmar). Born in Malden, Massachusetts in 1788, Judson was educated at Brown University and initially trained to be a minister. His deep sense of missionary calling led him to leave for Burma in 1813, where he dedicated his life to spreading Christianity. Judson is most famous for his translation of the Bible into the Burmese language, a monumental achievement that helped spread Christian teachings in Southeast Asia.
