Abraham Kuyper was a prominent Dutch theologian, journalist, and statesman, best known for his leadership as the Prime Minister of the Netherlands from 1901 to 1905. Born in 1837, Kuyper was a key figure in the development of neo-Calvinism and founded the Free University of Amsterdam. His work significantly influenced Dutch society, politics, and religious thought, advocating for the integration of faith and public life.

Throughout his life, Kuyper emphasized the importance of a Christian worldview in all areas, including education, politics, and culture. He founded the Anti-Revolutionary Party, the first organized political party in the Netherlands, promoting Christian principles within governance. Kuyper was also a prolific writer and preacher, known for his eloquent speeches and theological works that continue to impact Reformed theology today.

One of Abraham Kuyper’s famous quotes is, “There is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ, who is Sovereign over all, does not cry: ‘Mine!’” Another powerful statement is, “Liberty is not the right to do whatever we please but the freedom to do what we ought.” These quotes reflect his conviction that faith should permeate every aspect of life and society.
