Abigail Spanberger

Abigail Spanberger is an American author, former CIA officer, and politician who has served as the U.S. Representative for Virginia’s 7th Congressional District since 2019. Born in Red Bank, New Jersey in 1979, she studied at the University of Virginia and later earned a master’s degree from the Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce. Before entering politics, she worked as a federal law enforcement officer and an operations officer for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), specializing in counterterrorism.

As an author, Spanberger has written about her experiences in public service, reflecting on national security, bipartisanship, and civic duty.
