Tan Le
Tan Le is a Vietnamese-Australian entrepreneur, innovator, and neuroscientist known for her pioneering work in the field of brain-computer interfaces. Born in Vietnam in 1977, Le and her family migrated to Australia as refugees, where she would go on to study electrical engineering at Monash University. Her groundbreaking work focuses on developing technology that allows people to control devices using only their brainwaves, with the goal of improving the lives of individuals with disabilities.
In 2003, Le co-founded the company Emotiv, which developed one of the first commercially available neuroheadsets. These headsets can detect brain activity and translate it into commands for computers, gaming consoles, and other devices. Her work has had significant implications for fields such as healthcare, gaming, and neuroscience, and she has been recognized as a leading innovator in human-computer interaction.
Reflecting on her career, Tan Le once said, "The brain is the most complex thing we know. If we can unlock its potential, we can change the world." Her contributions to neuroscience and technology continue to push the boundaries of what is possible, helping to shape the future of brain-computer interfaces and assistive technology.
