Krist Novoselic is an American musician, best known as the bassist and co-founder of the legendary grunge band Nirvana. Born in Compton, California, in 1965, Novoselic moved to Aberdeen, Washington, where he met Kurt Cobain, and together they formed Nirvana in the late 1980s. Novoselic’s distinctive bass lines and musical contributions helped shape the band’s signature sound, particularly on their groundbreaking album Nevermind (1991), which catapulted Nirvana to international fame and brought grunge music into the mainstream. His musical partnership with Cobain became one of the most influential in rock history.
After Nirvana’s tragic end with Cobain’s death in 1994, Novoselic pursued a variety of musical and political projects.
